Le Petit Glaneur Lirique. Paris: chez Le Fuel, [1814/1815].

24mo (binding size 103 x 65 mm). [32] leaves. Engraved title, 5 stipple-engraved plates by Duthé after F. Mossard, 6 leaves with engraved vignettes of reclining ladies or girls in empire dresses at top of each recto and verso, the rest blank for reader’s notes, fold-out letterpress calendar for 1815 at end printed on recto and verso, with wood-engraved borders (a couple of spots to calendar). Embossed velvet binding with stripes and repeated floral cartouches, gilt edges. ***

A charming Empire almanac in an unusual and well-preserved binding. Opening with an “Avis aux demoiselles,” the text contains light-hearted (insipid) poems set to popular tunes, considered sufficiently stimulating for a feminine audience. The last few leaves with their reclining belles invite the reader to jot down her thoughts.

A single copy located of a different issue, with 80 pp., at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. Not in Grand-Carteret.
